Copper Slag
Copper slag, a by-product from copper smelting industry, is widely used as an abrasive material to remove rust, old coating and other contamination in dry abrasive blasting which is an expensive process and results in significant amounts of particulate emissions and spent abrasive of Powder Coating in Ahmedabad.
Surface preparation is a process that involves removing old paint, rust, and other contaminants from a surface while creating a rough profile for adhesion of new coating. Various commercially available methods of surface preparation are dry abrasive blasting, wet abrasive blasting, hydro blasting (water blasting), chemical stripping, and vacuum blasting. Dry abrasive blasting is one of the most effective and widely used methods of surface preparation for removing paint and imparting required surface profile . Shipyards, refineries, automobile industries and other facilities use dry abrasive blasting to remove rust, old coatings, and other impurities. In this method, abrasive materials are propelled against a surface at a very high velocity with the aid of compressed air to remove the contaminants. Some of the most commonly used abrasives include bar shot, coal slag, copper slag, garnet, sand, steel grit, glass beads, and others.
